GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR CLIENTS. LFP'S RESPONSE TO COVID-19.

About Us

Ohio Hall of Fame coach Dave Leffew started giving pitching lessons in his basement in the early 90’s and in 2007 his daughter Amie began giving lessons there once a week.  By 2009 Amie saw a need for expansion and opened a small facility in a shopping center in LaGrange, OH in 2010.  The facility had just two cages and focused solely on pitching.  After five years and working with as many as 40-50 pitchers a week was time to expand.

The Leffew Fastpitch facility was built in 2016 and opened September 26th, 2016.  The almost 20,000 square foot LFP facility was the vision of Amie OBrien (Leffew), brought out of the ground by Bryan Morrow of Morrow/Leach Construction.  Morrow’s daughter had been Amie’s student in LaGrange for 3 years.  Together they were able to conceptualize a perfect fastpitch destination.  Morrow’s and O'Brien's understanding of the sport, extensive planning and hard work has produced an exceptional training facility that has become a destination for all fastpitch enthusiasts, often cited as the highest quality fastpitch facility in the United States.

Once LFP opened Amie brought in coaches for all fastpitch softball skills that are some of the most qualified instructors in Ohio.  Her goal is to provide coaches that are well respected in the sport, are positive role models and are experienced and knowledgeable in their areas.  Her focus is on coaches who are well versed in teaching the process of each softball skill.

LFP has two main goals, one is to offer an exceptional training facility for all fastpitch softball skills for all age levels.  Our instructors teach the athlete how and what to practice for effective performance, have measurable improvement goals and develop the skills to achieve them.  The other is to create a positive and motivating atmosphere for young ladies to learn essential life lessons through softball such as work ethic, teamwork, respect for the game and themselves, and the power of positivity.   Amie is currently an Associate Board member for the Positive Coaching Alliance, an organization that embodies all the coaching ethics LFP believes in!

We are so excited to see what the future holds for LFP and all the athletes that come through our doors!  We were thrilled to follow 48 LFP athletes playing at the college level last year!  Seeing the girls succeed both off and on the field is our passion, and we can’t wait to see what you can do!
